TELLING Industries owns and operates three manufacturing facilities located in Cambridge, OH, and Osceola, AR and Windsor, CT. Each location is equipped with state of the art roll forming machinery, large industrial slitters as well as metal breaks & shearing equipment. Having a full complement of capabilities at each location enables TELLING to better service our customers with a full line of products at all of our locations.
This is a full-time salary and commission position that offers excellent compensation and benefits. The territory consists of Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and part of Mississippi.
Ideal candidates would live or relocate to the Dallas/Ft Worth, TX area. 50% overnight travel with the South/Southwest region is typical.
Purpose: Grow Sales of metal framing in non-residential construction by developing and supporting existing and new customers in a multi state territory, promoting Telling’s new products and excellent brand reputation as a quality American owned & operated manufacturer.
Role/Responsibilities: Manage the territory to execute the market strategy for increasing sales, assisting in price discussions, service, & value with the full support of Telling’s operations, logistics, engineering, and executive teams.
- Cultivate business relationships throughout entire territory with a focus on Distributors, Interior Contractors, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers.
- Delight customers throughout entire territory by facilitating superior responsiveness, service, & quality on a consistent basis.
- Provide assistance to our distributors and end-users through ongoing training and joint sales calls with Telling technical team.
- Evaluate current and future distribution needs by market and recommend goals and objectives.
- Qualify sales leads promptly and determine the next step in the sales process.
- Conduct lunch and learns to Architects to ensure Telling is specified for future work.
- Continually monitor and report on market and competitor activities.
Required experience:
- Seasoned Sales professional with 5+ years’ experience in an outside sales role.
- General knowledge of Commercial Construction and its supply chain.
- Familiarity with heavy industry and manufacturing. The candidate does not need to know how to run a Plant but does need to know how to work successfully with a Plant.
- Experience with an ERP system for order through fulfillment. The candidate does not need to know how to transact within our Navision ERP system, but needs to have experience working with those who do, in a professional manner.
