Summary: Cleveland Construction is seeking a Business Development Manager/Client Development Manager to support growth of our general contracting operation. We are a premier general contractor headquartered in Mentor, Ohio. We are looking to expand our presence in the Columbus and Cincinnati markets, and are seeking an individual who is local to that area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify target markets and implement sales strategy
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, architects, owners, engineers, etc.
- Maintain Customer Relationship Management system
- Preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities
- Research trade publications, identify trends and potential new business opportunities
- Attend trade conferences and industry networking events
- Work cross-functionally with team members to win new clients
Skills/Knowledge:
- Presentation skills will be essential and an understanding of how to best leverage programs, such as PowerPoint , in a presentation is essential
- Analytical capacity to research a variety of sources to capture competitive information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to network and develop strong relationships with individuals
- Understanding of construction industry, project delivery methods, project structures, etc.
Computer / Technology:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
- Database management with prior experience working in a CRM
- Construction Report Services such as Dodge, Construction Points, CDC, etc.
- Aptitude in learning new computer systems
Education / Experience:
- A four (4) year degree in Construction Management/Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication or related field
- 5+ years of experience working in the construction industry including construction manager, general contractor, architect, engineer, or related fields associated with the construction industry
- Experience working in a business environment and outside sales selling to developers within construction industry; passion for sales
- Willingness to focus on new client development, cold calling, etc.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role, company and industry
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment
- Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking and reaching
- May require lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Job position responsibilities are performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones
- 90% travel local in the Columbus and Cincinnati markets
